Introduction to the French+Gastronomy Program

At the heart of Rouen, the first French city classified as a «City of Gastronomy» by UNESCO, Campus France has partnered with the FAUCHON school and the French Language Center (FLE) French in Normandy to offer a 3-week program combining French courses, cultural discoveries, and exciting workshops in the fields of hospitality and catering: gastronomy workshops and cultural activities are conducted in English. In this program, you will learn the techniques of top chefs, meet producers and gastronomy professionals, all while learning the French language.

French+Gastronomy has been designed for international students, including those who may be complete beginners in French.

The partnership between Campus France, FAUCHON School, and French in Normandy brings together the best of French gastronomy and the reputation of a FLE-certified school. Furthermore, the city of Rouen adds an exceptional touch to this program with the richness of cultural activities offered by the Métropole and the Region.

As the birthplace of Impressionism, Rouen is one of the French cities with the highest concentration of historical monuments and offers students an authentic destination full of discoveries.

At FAUCHON School, students will explore the professions of top chefs, pastry chefs, chocolatiers… They will meet cheese producers, farmers, fishmongers, sommeliers… They will also have the chance to discover the hospitality sector by visiting prestigious establishments. These encounters and enriching experiences will interest both those looking to better prepare for a career in this field and those who just want to explore this exciting sector. At the same time, students will start learning or perfecting their French through courses provided by the French in Normandy center, which will also allow them to discover French culture.
